    School Principal

    Lead Through Action

    Your new company

    The Farmhouse Montessori School caters for students from early childhood through to primary across two lovely campuses in and near Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The school has a preschool that was established 13 years ago and has a long record of Montessori education. In recent years they have successfully expanded to provide authentic Montessori education across the full primary spectrum. The school currently caters for approximately 130 students across both campuses. As an authentic Montessori school they follow a philosophy that allows for the development of each individual child in an environment that promotes an atmosphere of respect and understanding. The peaceful environment and the dedicated qualified Montessori staff nurture the children’s natural potential, stimulating independent thinking through carefully constructed programs. The small school size allows for a tight knit community that are highly engaged, committed and passionate about each other and Montessori education.

    Your new role

    To lead the school as it continues to grow and develop, a passionate and hands on Principal is required. As school Principal you will have complete oversite over both campuses, reporting to a dedicated and supportive board, and supported by an experienced educational leader of the pre-school campus.

    What you'll need to succeed

    We are looking for a Principal whose values align strongly to the Montessori philosophy. You will have a warm and nurturing approach that will thrive in a small school setting where you will be able to mentor, guide and support the teachers in their professional dedication to meeting the needs of each individual child.

    As a Principal in a small school setting you will be;

     Innovative, proactive, and strategic

     Hands on, with a diverse skill set

     A strong communicator with the ability to form excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders

     Passionate about leading a growing school, building enrolments, profile and systems to ensure the ongoing development and success of the school

     Commercially savvy with strengths across administration, compliance, marketing and communications, finance and accreditation requirements in a Primary and Pre-Primary setting.

    Applicants are not required to hold formal Montessori qualifications, however this would be a distinct advantage and it is expected the successful applicant will have a true alignment with the Montessori philosophy. Applicants must be suitably qualified in education with a proven record of success in teaching and school leadership.

    What you'll get in return

    This is a role that will prove highly rewarding. You will have the opportunity to drive the growth of this lovely school, work closely with the community and staff, and make a real impact. Few roles offer the opportunity to have such a direct connection with all aspects of the schools operation. You will thrive working in a Montessori setting, building connections and relationships with the wider Montessori community across Sydney. Your team are dedicated, passionate, warm and caring and the board are extremely supportive and collegial.

    This position represents a great opportunity for a passionate Montessori leader to step up to Principal and make a mark. Equally this is a truly unique role for an experienced primary school leader to really make use of your skills and knowledge in a progressive educational setting.
